Type
of Cases: CYFD
Protective Services Social Workers refer cases that are in the In-Home
Services
preservation stage as well as Post Adjudicated cases. The
Family Reunification Court Team screens all referrals and Judge Ramirez
makes
the final
approval of program participation. The
goal is to reunify a healthy functioning family through substance abuse
recovery
programming and judicial intervention.

Reunification Court meets every other Thursday at 11:30 in courtroom #4
of the
district
courthouse.

Program
Model: Strength based model
with four phases including Intensive Outpatient substance abuse
treatment,
parenting classes and family activities, group and individual
counseling, Moral
Reconation Therapy (MRT), frequent and random drug testing through
urinalysis
and oral swab testing, home visitation, community service monitoring
and
bi-weekly judicial reviews. Click

Family
Drug Court Team: CYFD
Social
Workers/Supervisors, Guardians Ad Litem, Respondent Attorney, Assistant
District
Attorney, Citizens Review Board member, CASA Director, former consumer
of CYFD
services, Probation and Parole Officers, Southwest Counseling Center
Staff, and
Program Staff are members of the FRC Team led by Judge Fernando R.
Macias. The team screens all referrals for
participation,
advises staff on
policies and staffs all cases before judicial reviews to make
recommendations on
client progress; incentives/sanctions.
